I live in Guadeloupe, and go there from time to time with my little family. Parc des Mamelles is a place I love. It reminds me of my outings to Beauval zoo. among the finest in the world.

In Petit-Bourg
To get there from where we live, in northern Grande-Terre, we have to cross take the Route de la Traversée.

On the way, I like to stop off at the Gîte des Mamelles site. Why is that? To enjoy the views. It lies in the hollow of the two Mamelles mountains.

These are 2 peaks in the Guadeloupe National Park on the island of Basse-Terre.
As for One World Trade Center in New York that can often be seen in New York from several neighborhoods, well it's the same for these two Mamelles that can be seen in the distance from several communes in Guadeloupe.
On the road: lush forest, giant trees, coolness but beware of the many bends. 😄
Parc des Mamelles: opening hours + prices + itinerary
On arrival at this wildlife park in Guadeloupe, you'll have the choice of parking in front of the entrance or a little further on. In general, there's always room.

The park is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm.
It takes around two hours to explore, so arrive no later than 3pm.
Prices for this zoo in Guadeloupe
The free for children under 3.
Otherwise, the rate is 12€ from 3 to 12 years old and 17.50€ per adult.
By buying your ticket online (present it directly on your smartphone with the QR CODE), you save one euro per seat, the price is cheaper with this online ticketing service.
There's also an annual pass for €32, which is well worth it if you live in Guadeloupe.
The course in a 4-hectare forest
Once you've paid your entrance fee, you're immediately immersed in 4 hectares of tropical forest.

Immersion in a part of the Guadeloupe National Park
I love seeing some of the flora of our islands thanks to this immersion in a part of the Guadeloupe national park: a real treat.
This discovery of various species of trees, plants and flowers is a real treat. There are plenty of explanations along the way to enrich our knowledge: birds of paradise, balisiers, orchids, etc. alpinias red, ...
The relaxing, photogenic setting
The open-air trail in Mamelles Park offers a host of beautiful views: from the tree-lined footbridges to the Caribbean Sea, the Ilets Pigeon, ...
The canopy and various walkways
At the very top, dozens of meters up, the lovely, totally safe canopy walk is certainly my 🩷 favorite. Even though I'm afraid of heights, I find it really original and excellent for appreciating the atmosphere of the rainforest and having an unusual experience in Guadeloupe.
An experience for children and adults alike
This is clearly an activity for kids in Guadeloupe! An adventure course with a complete play area for children, opportunities to discover the flora and fauna live. It's a great site for everyone. Meetings are organized every day with the park's animal keepers.
What I don't like about Parc des Mamelles
The store
I think the store needs to be renovated to offer better merchandising. Given my experience in this field, at Apple, Esprit de Corp and Leroy Merlin, you know I'm demanding on this point 😜.
On the other hand, the choice of products sold is not exceptional in my opinion. I'd like to include more local designers.
Lack of interaction
If I had a magic wand, I'd have added a little more interactive content along the way. I would also have scheduled regular guided tours with a ranger, as many parks do.
